
Twenty-one scholar athlete seniors were awarded scholarships by the Junior Prep Sports Amerika Samoa, at an awards presentation Wednesday at DDW. The event also honored the High School Football All Stars.
The Junior Prep Sports Amerika Samoa celebrated the students’ achievements both on the field and in class, and awarded scholarships to assist off island colleges and the American Samoa Community College.
The event included remarks by Lt. Governor Talauega Eleasalo Ale, Director of Education Talauega Dr. Samasoni Asaeli, Director of Commerce Petti Matila and JPS Commissioner Tupuola Dr. Bone Taase. Two scholar athletes, Oakland Salave’a Jr. and Liualevaiosina Chloe Le’iato also spoke.
JPS President Lydia Faleafine Nomura, presented the scholarship awards of $500 (Only one student received $1000) and certificates. The All Stars received JPSAS jerseys.
