Alleged rape started when victim was in 6th grade

jail

District Court Judge Gwen Tauili’ili-Langkilde set bail at $100,000 for a man accused of raping his step-daughter over the span of four years.

The defendant made his initial appearance in the District Court this week on charges of child molestation, rape, sodomy and incest.

All are felony counts and if convicted, the defendant is looking at more than 20 years in jail.

To protect the identity of the victim, 93KHJ is not naming the defendant.

Court information says, the case came to light when police came across a “suicidal post” on social media.

This promoted an investigation and police were able to track down the victim at her home.

The victim, her step-father and mother were asked to go to the police station for questioning and this was when the victim told of sexual related incidences that occurred in the last four years.

She said, starting in 2018 when she was a sixth grader, up to the first week of May, the defendant raped her.

Police interrogated the defendant who eventually admitted to the victim’s allegations.
