The newest building in Samoa is called “Jesus Christ, Worship Center Christian Churches Worldwide” and it was officially dedicated Saturday, April 30.

The church took four years to build, delayed by a measles epidemic and the worldwide coronavirus pandemic.

The dedication of the new headquarters of the Apia-based church at Beach Road in Sogi was attended by the founder of the church, Apostle Viliamu Mafo’e and political leaders, including the Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mata’afa and Opposition Leader, Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi.

Project Manager Misiafa Misty Ioapo said, the estimated cost of the three story building is $20 million tālā and it can accommodate up to 2,000 people.

The structure and the design of the church’s new premises met the Government’s noise control requirements and is soundproof. The front and side exterior of the second story of the building is all glass.

The contractor was local construction firm Ah Liki Construction Ltd.

Work on the building began in 2018, with construction of the foundation undertaken by Chinese Company Zheng Construction.
