Travelers on tonight’s Hawaiian Airlines flight to Honolulu, no longer have to register on the Hawaii Safe Travels program. Hawaii ended this requirement on March 25th.

Local Station Manager of Hawaiian Air, Tuli Fruean, told KHJ News that for travelers from American Samoa who have tested positive over the last 7-14 days prior to departure, are still under quarantine orders.  Meaning, they will not be allowed to travel until the completion of their quarantine orders.

He said, the airline will be able to re-accommodate them on future flights, without any penalties.

Fruean added that the Department of Health and Hawaiian Airlines will be monitoring the list of those on quarantine orders, to ensure they will comply with the quarantine requirements and not attempt to travel.

Emphasizing the importance of these measures, he shares that they “are looking out for the safety and well-being of our staff and airport personnel, who possibly may be exposed to travelers identified as positive cases from testing.”
