Dear Editor,
I’m a mother of 5 and I’m 27 years old, I don’t know why teachers and counselors expect my kids to do their homework online and they don’t have what was offered to be given out to every student to do their homework that is needed to be done from home and because of this lockdown is still going..
My point is the counselor of Leone Midkiff called yesterday which was Tuesday, March 8, 2022, to inform us about my children being absent from school and I explained to her why, etc. And she asked me if my kids got any devices that were given out to the students and I said no. And she replied tomorrow morning when I’m able to pick up my children’s food coupons being disturbed, I can pick up devices for my 3 boys. And when I got there I knocked on the door and asked for the counselor and I explained the reason why I’m looking for the counselor.
They just looked at me and said next door. So I went next door, I knocked again and it was the principal of Leone Midkiff. She said (o le a) What! and I said I’m looking for Terry(counselor). And she said again next door and I went and knocked and finally, I got Terry.
I talked with Terry and she said she doesn’t know or have any right to the devices maybe you should ask the Principal cause you said you haven’t picked up anything for your kids…SMH I looked at her she looked so confused and maybe it was from the time I was in school back then, they are now playing favoritism on who to help or not to assist…
I made mistakes but I don’t like when they take it on the kids cause they are my future. I may be young but I’m mature enough to support my kids all the way. We need teachers who love and treat our children the same. That Samoan saying PELE MATUA FANAU.
