The American Samoa Department of Homeland Security – TEMCO issued the following statement at 9:30 A.M Sunday, January 16, 2022.
The NOAA Pacific Tsunami Warning Center in Hawaii has confirmed that another volcanic eruption has occurred in the Tonga Islands.
A TSUNAMI ADVISORY IS NOW IN EFFECT FOR AMERICAN SAMOA….
The public is advised to stay away from the ocean due to strong Rip Currents.
The public is advised to continue to listen to your local radio stations for further information.
