Some residents have been checking for palolo the last two nights with no luck.

After the weak showing of the delicacy last month on Tutuila, there were expectations that this month’s rise will be plentiful for the eastern group of islands.

Alega Beach had about 70 people out checking for signs of the seaworm Wednesday and a Thursday nights.

Tisa Faamuli says the first night there was nothing; last night she only saw one long strand.

She says they will continue their palolo watch tonight.

In Samoa palolo hunters have also been checking at the favorite palolo fishing spots on Upolu and Savaii.

A sure sign that the rise was non existent or dismal is the absence of palolo sellers at the Apia fish market.
