The biggest fundraising event for the territory’s only home for the elderly, Hope House, is now underway. It’s a golf tournament today and tomorrow and a raffle.

Hope House, which is operated by the Catholic Diocese of Samoa-Pago Pago depends on the proceeds from this annual fundraiser to augment government and donor assistance.

Bishop Peter Brown said the demand for home-care services from our community has been constant and increasing every year.

“Since the territory’s COVID 19 restrictions have been modified, we have gradually started the expansion plans for Hope House to accommodate the needs of our community, and also expedite critical repairs to the existing facility as it is over 30 years old.”

Chairman ofthe Hope House Board, Rep Larry Sanitoa, said over 100 teams signed up for the tournament and they look forward to another fun-filled and successful event.

He invites those that don’t play golf to look out for the Hope House raffle ticket sellers.
