
The quarantine period for travelers on the September 13th Hawaiian Airlines flight has now been extended to 14 days following the first confirmed coronavirus case.
The travelers will have their second Covid test today.
The female traveler who had a positive test for the virus that causes Covid is reported to be well and is not showing any symptoms of the deadly virus.
The Department of Health has completed contact tracing and all of those who may have been exposed to the woman upon arrival at Pago Pago International Air
Oft up to the day of the positive test result are in quarantine.
Updates should be forthcoming after the Covid 19 Task Force meeting today.
At Friday’s press conference to announce the confirmed case, Task Force Chairman Lt Governor Talauega Eleasalo Ale said flights from Hawaii will continue using the Talofa Pass system but added that they will review and monitor the situation.
Talauega appeals to the public to remain calm and vigilant. He assures that health authorities and first responders acted swiftly and effectively to isolate the confirmed case and prevent any community spread.
The Task Force Chairman also urged those who are thinking of taking a vacation to reconsider:
