Paper applications for P-EBT benefits available now

Paper applications for the Pandemic Electronics Transfer Program administered by the Dept of Human and Social Services became available.

The program provides food coupons to make up for meals that students didn’t receive at school because of the pandemic.

Director of DHSS, Muavaefaatasi John Suisala, says the paper applications are available from all public and private schools and from the Asnoa office in Utulei, paper applications for all public schools in a Manu’a were given to the depot of education in Monday,

Unlike other federal assistance programs administered by DHSS . supporting documents (e.g., income, residency, birth certificates, SSN, etc.) to verify the information on the application forms are not required,

Completed applications must be dropped off at the ASNAP Office. The deadline to file an application is October 30, 2021. 

DHSS online application portal will go live next Monday, September 20, 2021. 

Muavaefaatasi says the online application is the fastest and most convenient way to apply.  When live, the link to our P-EBT online application portal is www.asnap.as.

For the regular school year P-EBT, qualified students from

1) The 22 public schools that were on hybrid schedule from August 31, 2020, to October 9, 2020, will receive $96 for those who had 2 virtual class days and $135 for children who had three virtual days.

2) Studentsfrom St. Theresa School who were on hybrid schedule from August 31, 2020, to December 18, will receive $128; and

3) students from Kanana Fou School who were on virtual learning from February 1-12, 2021 will receive $80. 

4) For the summer P-EBT, students from all public and private schools who were enrolled and remained in school by the end of School Year 2020-2021 will each receive $438.

Since Monday, DHSS has received paper applications from 2,160 households for over 5,500 school children.
