DHSS advice for parents when filing for P-EBT

asnap

The Department of Human and Social Services advices that when filling out applications for the Pandemic Electronics Transfer (P-EBT) Program, parents shoukd indicate your child’s school and grade for the past school year and NOT the current school year.

P-EBT provides food coupons to compensate for school meals that students missed out in the last year when their schools switched to virtual classes.

DHSS says it’s important to write down your child’s full name as it appears on the official school enrollment records as our eligibility system will match the name on the application to the names on the official school enrollment lists to verify and approve your child for P-EBT benefits.

Similarly, the name of the parent or legal guardian on the application must be the full name of the parent or legal guardian as it appears on the official school enrollment records.

DHSS’ eligibility system will match the parent/legal guardian’s name on the application to the names on the official school enrollment lists to verify and approve them to become Authorized Representatives to pick up and redeem food stamp coupons for their children.

Parents are required to complete one application for all their children regardless if they went to different schools.

Paper applications are available from all public and private schools. Online applications will be available at DHSS online portal:www.asnap.as

The deadline for filing applications is Oct 30.
