A new date has been scheduled for the groundbreaking ceremony of the American Samoa Temple, of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Ottoville.

The groundbreaking was originally set for Oct 9 but the church announced yesterday that it has been pushed back to October 30. No reason was given for the delay.

The temple is to be built in the open lot next to the LDS Stake Center in Ottoville.

A fence has been erected on the perimeter and there are several containers at the site.

A land use permit has also been issued for the temple construction which will be built by Westland Construction of Utah.
