A student from South Pacific Academy will have a chance to learn the latest techniques in the world of law and crime scene investigation this summer.
Lorinna Melanie Taiaopo Lee leaves this Friday for the nation’s capital to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum Law and CSI which is from July 25-30.
During the six day program, which is sponsored by George Mason University, participants will learn about law and investigative careers directly from professionals and develop skills in analyzing evidence using legal reasoning and making decisions.
They will have a chance to take on the role of either a prosecutor, defense attorney, crime scene investigator, or juror in a simulation that runs from crime scene to trial,
These mock trials will be held in the Supreme Court.
The keynote speaker at this year’s program is John Douglas, a legendary profiler and FBI Behavioral Analysis Unit founder.
Among prominent cases that he’s conducted interviews and research for are those of Charles Manson, Ted Bundy and Son of Man , David Berkowizt.
Lorrina, who will be a senior at SPA in the new school year, hopes to pursue a career in law.
She is the 2021-2022 National Student Council President and Senior Class Secretary.
She says this will be a golden opportunity to help her gain insight into crime investigations and trials,
