The American Samoa Telecommunications Authority (ASTCA) Board is reviewing the top three selections for the position of ASTCA CEO.

The three are the top picks from the pool of 12 applicants for the position which was advertised more than two months ago.

Board Secretary Tuni Tauiliili said each board member reviewed each of the 12 applications then submitted their top five candidates.

Using a point system, the board determined the top three candidates. The three have completed the interview stages and the board is currently in the process of verifying references and educational backgrounds.

Asked when they hope to pick the CEO, Tauiliili said, “God willingly, soon.”

He told KHJ News, “We believe in ensuring the right candidate will be chosen; an individual who exemplifies the qualifications and the readiness to lead our company in providing new advancements in telecommunications technology and services for the community of American Samoa. This process will take time and we humbly ask for the public’s patience as we work towards finding our permanent CEO.”
