John Iosefo wins Dream Chaser award at USF

A 2017 valedictorian of Tafuna High School, John Xavier Anesi Iosefo, has been awarded the University of San Francisco’s Cultural Centers 2021 Dream Chaser Award.

The award is presented each year to a graduating student of Polynesian, Micronesian or Melanesian descent who demonstrates commitment to leadership and social justice. This student exemplifies strength to make changes on the University of San Francisco campus.

John is the son of Tauiliili Silivelio and Juliana Iosefo of Tafuna.

He was one of the three Valedictorians for Tafuna High School in 2017.

John will graduate from the University of San Francisco this week then intern at the United States Congress before starting his graduate studies at Georgetown University this fall.

He will attend Georgetown University under a fully paid scholarship by the Department of State and upon attaining his Master’s Degree will enter the United States Diplomatic Corp.

In a video posted on Facebook, John spoke about the award and thanked all those who helped him along the way.
