A 34-year-old man is charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, after a body search by police found a bulge in his groin area which the government alleges turned out to be drugs.

Teddy Tautua Ale had been pulled over in a traffic stop on the night of May 7, when police saw he had an open can of alcohol drink in his car.

He was taken to the Leone substation where an officer conducted a pat down.

In his groin area the officer felt a hard bulge and asked the defendant what it was,

Court documents quote the defendant saying it was his private parts.

The officer conducting the pat down reached into Ale’s shorts, and pulled out a small brown bag. Inside were a clear glass pipe and a cut up straw with white crystalline substances, along with three lighters and 1 $5 bill and 10 $1 bills.

Ale ended up at the Territorial Correctional Facility and his bail was set at $5000.
