The administration had hoped to increase the starting wage to $16,000 but according to the governor it wasn’t able to do so.
Nonetheless he was pleased to announce that the government is able to raise the starting salary to $15,o25.
Lemanu went on to say thst the government had implemented the salary hike for some employees and they will continue the raise until the whole ASG workforce is covered.
According to the governor the salary increase was planned together with the personnel action rollbacks but they decided to do the rollbacks first.
Lemanu said they have received the report on rollbacks from Director of Human Resources Lynn Pulou Alaimalo.
He told directors if there are employees in their departments whom they feel should not face the rollbacks they should take it up with the DHR Director. If they are not able to convince the HR director that their employees should not face the rollbacks they could see him and the lt governor.
