$1.1 million grant for immunization

Congresswoman Uifa’atali Amata welcomes news of a health care grant of over $1.1 million for the American Samoa Department of Health, dedicated to the immunization and vaccines effort for children.

This grant of $1,107,823 is discretionary funding from the U.S Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), directed through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases (NCIRD).

“Thank you most especially to Ruth Te’o for her work on this important program, as this notice from CDC/NCIRD is wonderful news,” said Uifa’atali. “Congratulations to Governor Lemanu P.S. Mauga, Lt. Governor Talauega E.V. Ale, Director Motusa T. Nua, and our many health care professionals as they work to help our community be safe and healthy!”
