The number of people who have received one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine before yesterday’s total was added in was 7,146.

And those who had received two doses was 954.

“We’re averaging about 600 shots per day,” says Director of Health Motusa Tuileama Nua.

The target set by the Covid-19 Task Force to vaccinate before the arrival of the first repatriation flight from Honolulu next Monday is 10,000; so at the current rate of vaccination that goal would be reached.

Another 1,000 moderna vaccines arrived this past Saturday and according to the Health Director, about the same quantity is expected to arrive on this Saturday’s cargo flight.

Vaccination of the largest tier group, the 16 year olds and above started last week and will take the next few weeks.

At the Tafuna Community Health Center, vaccinations are from 8am to 6pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday and on Saturday from 8am to noon.

Motusa says they are hoping to do a special vaccination outreach for senior citizens under the Territorial Administration on Aging Office Program.
