Swimming on Sunday is now banned in the village of Nu’uuli and the Village Council will strictly enforce the ban.
High Chief Soliai Fuimaono says the ban extends to Coconut Point which has become a popular swimming spot on Sundays.
He asks that all residents of Nu’uuli and the public adhere to the no swimming on Sunday rule.
Soliai said the village council is also prohibiting the discharge of any firearm in the village.
In addition the speed limit of 5 miles per hour in the village will be enforced at all times and this is fir the safety of residents.
According to Soliai visitors sometimes speed through the village but that will not be tolerated from now on.
The Nu’uuli village leader did not mention what the penalties are for violations of the village rules.
