Today, children will walk into the LBJ Pediatric Clinic with a whole new vibe.

The Pediatric Clinic triage and waiting room has received a makeover and is not decorated wall-to-wall with a Lion King and Moana & Maui theme.

The new spruce-up is the Lions Club of Pago Pago’s latest community service project.

“We wanted to continue our partnership with LBJ Hospital since we had to cancel our Eye Care Project in July last year. So, we adopted the Pediatric Clinic in hopes to give them a new experience in healthcare,” stated the President of Lions Club Tafa Tua-Tupuola.

“When we first started planning, we wanted it to be bright, cheery, and welcoming. We want children to see this as a happy place.”

The new look also includes tinted windows and fresh paint.

The project was chaired by Lion Peter Nomura who coordinated the entire community service with Dr. Maria Gayapa and the Engineering Department at LBJ Hospital.

Depending on the status of American Samoa’s borders, the Lions Club Project Eye Care is rescheduled for July 26th-30th and will also include a dental clinic.
