The Pago Pago Post Office took delivery of another 48,000 lbs of mail from a cargo flight that arrived this afternoon.
In order to process and sort all that mail the postal facility will be opened tomorrow, Christmas Eve from 12 noon to 6 pm. This is for both the front for mailing services and the back for mail pick up.
With the large amount of mail coming in Post Master Tao Suani and her staff have been working 12 hour shifts to sort packages, place yellow cards in mailboxes and have them ready for customers to pick up. 
The long work hours for the staff have been the norm since December 1st because of the unprecedented volume of holiday mail this year.
The Post Office will not be opened Christmas Day so there’s every intention to have all packages out of the Post Office by closing time tomorrow.
The Post Office opens 8am to 12 noon o. Saturday, December 26. The cargo flight will also bring mail in Saturday.
Post Master Suani says an announcement will be made if Post Office hours are extended Saturday.
