Today’s the first day of a four-week IT Work Academy designed to train participants in making use of the internet to promote their work skills and land jobs or launch web based businesses and other opportunities making use of the internet.
It’s offered by a local group, RISE Samoa, with support from the Department of Commerce.
Moana Haretuku is the local instructor but the academy which also has off island instructors for the virtual classes,
Haretuku said they have slots for 30 participants.

The RISE Samoa training takes place on the second floor of the building next to Milovale’s in Nu’uuli.
There’s a fee and scholarships are available.
