The court has given a father of five 90 days to look for a job.

According to Samoa News if Alema Siaosi is unable to secure a job he has to return to the Territorial Correctional Facility.

When Siaosi appeared for sentencing last week, his attorney informed the court that he had paid his outstanding traffic fines totaling $550.

Assistant Public Defender Ryan Anderson said Siaosi was working as a mechanic, and was the sole provider for his family, when he was arrested in January this year.

The defense attorney asked for a probated sentence which was supported by the prosecution.

Siaosi pleaded with the court that he be released so he can work to provide for his wife and children.

Cops had pulled over the defendant’s vehicle because of expired tags and during a search a glass pipe with methamphetamine in it were found.

Siaosi has been locked up since his arrest in January unable to post a $10,000 bond.

The court sentenced Siaosi to five years imprisonment and fined him $2,000. The sentence was suspended and he was placed on five years probation with several conditions.

Siaosi is to serve 20 months detention, with credit for the 10 months he has been detained.

The court ordered his release for 90 days to look for a job and if he’s unable to find one, he must return to the CF to serve out his sentence.

The court told the defendant that for sure the cannery is hiring.

The usual probation conditions of not consuming alcohol and not possessing or using illegal drugs, along with random drug testing were imposed.
