Parts of Leone, Vailoa and Taputimu villages have been without water and crews from the American Samoa Power Authority have been trying to identify the cause of the outages and ensuring that critical facilities like schools continue to have water.

The water pressure at Midkiff Elementary and Leone High School is low but they still have water. ASPA is boosting water pressure to the schools the schools.

Water technicians are looking for leaks and working to improve the water pressure as soon as possible.

A water main near St Theresa School in Malaeloa forced the early closure of that school yesterday. St Theresa has maintained a four day class schedule since the start of the new school year, and there are no classes on Friday.

ASPA thanks residents of affected villages for their patience while repair work is underway.
