There are no changes to the results of the 2020 General Elections on November 3.
4:30 pm, Tuesday was the deadline for any contests to be filed, after which Election Commissioner Dr. Lealofi Uiagalelei certified the 2020 Election results without any changes to what was announced on election night.
For the gubernatorial race:
- Lemanu and Talauega received 7,154 votes- 60.3%,
- Gaoteote and Faiivae garnered 2,594 ballots-21.9%,
- I’aulualo and Tapaau got 1,461 votes- 12.3% and
- Nua and Satele had 652 ballots- 5.5%.
A total of 11,861 votes were counted.
For the congressional election:
- Aumua Amata received 9,790 votes-83.3%,
- Oreta Tufaga Mapu Crichton got 1,709 ballots-14.5%, and
- Meleagi Suitonu Chapman received 250 votes- 2.1%.
A total of 11,749 ballots were counted.
The winners of the House of Representatives election are :
- District #1 Manu’a: Fetu Fetui and Alumamalu Ale Sea Filoialii,
- District #2 Manu’a: Tiaoalii Fauagiga Sai,
- District #3 Vaofanua: Lavea Fatulegaee Palepoi Mauga,
- District #4 Saole: Titialii Kitara Vaiau,
- District #5 Sua #1: Luaitaua Gene Pan,
- District #6 Sua #2: Avagafono Tuavao Vaimaga Maiava,
- District #7 Maoputasi #1: Vailoata Eteuati Amituanai,
- District #8 Maoputasi #2: Vailiuama Steve Leasiolagi,
- District # 9 Maoputasi #3: Vesiai Poyer Samuelu,
- District #10 Maoputasi #4: Vaetasi Tuumolimoli Moliga,
- District #11 Maoputasi #5: Faimealelei Anthony Allen,
- District #12, Ituau: Manumaua Wayne Wilson and Logoituau Mark Timoteo Atafua,
- District #13 Fofo: Andra Tereise Samoa,
- District #14 Alataua: Savali Talavou Ale,
- District #15 Tualuta: Larry Simou Sanitoa and Samuel Ioka Ale Meleisea,
- District # 16 Tualatai: Manavaalofa Tutuila Manase and
- District #17 Leasina: Ape Mike Asifoa
The Swains Island Representative is Su’a Alexander Jennings.
Dr Uiagalalei said, “Thank you American Samoa both here and abroad for a very peaceful, fair and friendly 2020 General Elections.”
