The service and sacrifice of veterans in all branches of the US Armed Forces will be remembered tomorrow, Veterans Day.
A wave by the American Samoa Veterans Association is set for 6am in front of McDonald’s in Tafuna and at 8am is the ASG Veterans Day ceremony at the VA Monument in Tafuna.
Wreaths will be laid, flags of each branch of the Armed Forces will be hoisted and there’ll be a gun salute.
In his Veterans Day messages Governor Lolo Moliga said, “On this Veterans Day we continue our vigil of expressing our gratitude and our sense of gratefulness to all the Veterans for their services which fostered our protection and sustain our core values inherent in our democracy.
“We wish to pay special tribute and lavish praise on all our veterans along with sustaining our continual prayers for their welfare and that they have been freed from any post adverse effects on their lives.
On behalf of Lt Governor Lemanu and Ella Failautusi Mauga, along with First Lady Cynthia Moliga, the governor extended to all veterans deepest gratitude and appreciation “for the blanket of freedom they provided for us to live in peace and uninterrupted freedom.
Tomorrow is an ASG and federal holiday.
