In exactly two weeks voters will head to the polls to elect a Governor and Lt Governor, Delegate to Congress and members of the House of Representatives.

Today, Governor Lolo Moliga sent out a memo reminding directors that all qualified voters are entitled to two consecutive hours on Election Day, November 3rd for the purpose of casting their votes.

The two consecutive hours excludes any lunch or rest period.

The qualified voter shall not, because of being absent from their place of employment, be liable to any penalty. Nor shall any deduction be made on account of their absence from his or her usual salary or wages.

This requirement however does not apply to any employee whose hours of employment are such that he/she has a period of 2 consecutive hours between the time of opening and closing of the polls when he or she is not working for his or her employer.

The governor said that supervisory personnel are responsible to see that absences are staggered in a manner to ensure no interruption of government services.

All employers were reminded that all qualified voters are entitled to this two hour voting time regardless of their place of employment.
