One of the questions in the “Let Your Voices Be Heard,” Gubernatorial Forum at Tafuna High School last week related to the turnover of teachers who leave for better paying jobs.

The candidates were asked what they would do to entice educators to continue teaching.

The Iaulualo and Tapaau team said one of the main reasons why educators leave for other jobs is because the pay is not good, which deprives students of good teachers to provide quality education.

Governor candidate Iaulualo Fa’afetai Talia said they will look at reclassification of teacher salaries to ensure educators receive salaries that they deserve.

Their plan is to develop the economy and generate new revenues for ASG to fund the budget and offer better salaries for teachers.
