Members of the Tavai family and residents of Utulei and Gataivai held a peaceful demonstration this morning near the tank farm.
A family member who did not wish to be named said that their aim was to remind government leaders that landowners of Gataivai where the tank farm is located are still waiting for full compensation from the government.
Their claims relate to when families living near the tank farm were relocated during the administration of the late Governor AP Lutali.
While some families accepted property that the government gave them behind Veterans Memorial Stadium, some of the landowners don’t believe the government has fully compensated them for their properties.
