The chair of the Immigration Board Fanene Edda Wybersky said the use of the special provisions in immigration law to bring in foreign workers needs close scrutiny.
She said it’s become apparent that employees being hired from outside the territory are doing jobs that locals are qualified for.
Speaking at a House hearing yesterday Fanene explained that the Immigration Board requires companies sponsoring foreign workers for professional type jobs to submit contracts for those employee for the Board’s review.
