pm-2019

Samoa Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi has suggested Samoans should drop some cultural practices to help meet the economic woes caused by COVID-19 restrictions.

Speaking on national Radio 2AP  in response to concerns raised about the increasing number of people without jobs,  he said people should not rely on their children living off island as they are also facing worse hardships.

Tuilaepa suggested that people should consider making changes to traditional practices and obligations.

He said that if parents need $50 just ask for $50 and not $2,000 without understanding or considering how their children will feed their own children.
