The American Samoa Power Authority is losing three engineers who have resigned and moving on to other jobs.

Responding to KHJ News questions, the Executive Director of ASPA, Wallon Young said ASPA’s most senior water engineer/manager  has decided to move to private consulting.

A second water engineer who is on at-will employment will be leaving ASPA in October.

The employment contract for a third engineer expired this month and  he will be joining Starkist.

Young pointed out that the Water Division still has seven (7) remaining engineers.

In the meantime, ASPA has hired  four “highly qualified US Water & Wastewater engineers”  who are expected to arrive in the territory as soon as flights are reopened.

Young says two of the four are Professional Engineers (PEs) and it is hoped that they will join ASPA’s Water Division shortly.

He thanked the departing engineers for their service and wish them all the very best in their future endeavors.
