The Second Annual Steam Academy started yesterday at South Pacific Academy, and will continue up to August 21st.
STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics.
Edna Noga who is coordinating the academy says there are five courses : introduction to robotics, environment, entrepreneurship. 4-H and STEM in sports.
The program is Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 3pm and will culminate in a STEAM Academy Community Expo on August 22 at ASCC.
Noga says there’s lots of fun learning activities for the students and it will help ease them back into classrooms after the extended school closures due to COVID-19. One of the fun courses is Stem in Sports.
The target audience is incoming 6th – 11th graders, with a priority on the 7th – 9th-grade students
