Samoa Now Requires COVID-19 Test for Travelers from AS

Flights from Samoa to bring special skilled and technical workers were support to start today however a last minute change from Samoa regarding travelers from the territory has put the flights on hold.
The Samoa Ministry of Health is now requiring travelers form American Samoa to have a negative COVID 19 test three days before arrival at Faleolo Airport.
Up to now travelers from the territory were exempt from this requirement base don’t he fact that there we are COVID-19 free.
But this changed under Samoa’s  amended State of Emergency orders which went into effect Monday, Samoa time.
Talofa Airways had advertised a flight for today from Faleolo Airport to bring special skilled employees.  The return flight to Apia had a full load of passengers.
However the airline had to cancel the flight upon advice of the Attorney General’s Office.  The flights are now pushed back to Thursday.
Efforts to obtain an explanation from the Acting AG or the Director fo Health were unsuccessful.  KHJ News was told that they were in meetings.
