In Samoa the family of a young man who is the alleged victim of a beating recorded in a social media post has appealed for help to locate him.
The video of the assault went viral on social media on Sunday afternoon,
according to Samoa Observer.
The clip shows a group of young men huddled over a young man whose hands and feet were bound with a rope.
The newspaper reports the incident looked like it was recorded on a wharf.
A woman claiming to be the victim’s sister said they have been trying to find her brother since the video went on social media.
“For now I cannot give out any information on my brother until I can reassure all of the people involved,” she said.
In the video the young victim is heard appealing to an “uncle” and saying he did not do what the attackers seem to accuse him of.
His attackers accused him of lying and of stealing.
“I did nothing, please my brother, Va’a, please brother,” he said as he continued to cry.
Police have not said anything on the incident.
