On account of the July 4th holiday falling on a Saturday, the public holiday for Independence Day will be Friday, July 3.
Governor Lolo Moliga issued the holiday memo last Friday saying that all American Samoa Government offices will be closed and normal activities will be suspended on that day.
July 4th is a federal holiday as well.
The Post Office will open normal hours Friday, July 3 and will be closed on Saturday, according to Post Master Tao Suani.
The two commercial banks ANZ and Territorial Bank of American Samoa will be closed on Friday as will most businesses. Several retailers will remain opened Friday.
Star-Kist Samoa’s 2000 employes will have a two day holiday for Fourth of July. They will be off Thursday, July 2 and Friday, July 3.
