At yesterday’s Coronavirus Task Force meeting, Chairman Iulogologo Joseph Pereira gave a summary of federal funding that has been received or announced related to COVID-19 response.
Total funding is $85,919,141 and the breakdown is:
Port Administration: $1,381,262
Community College: $1,565,400
Department of Health: $1,941,438
TAOA: $650,000
Criminal Justice Planning Agency:$2,231,620
Human & Social Services: $6,196,802
Department of Treasury (Stimulus): $32,700,000
Department of Treasury (COVID-19): $35,173,619 Governor’s Office (DOI/OIIA): $4,079,000
Again, Governor Lolo Moliga instructed that none of this funding can be spent until he has seen and approved spending plans for use of the money.
He said these funds are given with guidelines on how they can be used.
The reason he wanted the funding publicized is to illustrate “God’s love for the territory.”
Lolo said in other countries affected by the disease, their economies have nose-dived but here not a single government employee lost one cent because of coronavirus.
