Health authorities are hoping to send to Honolulu some time this week samples which  are in storage to be tested for coronavirus.

Health Director Motusa Tuileama Nua says a special flight that will be stopping in the territory on a mission in the Pacific is supposed to pick up the samples.

According to him  there were 11 samples awaiting shipment to the Hawaii State Laboratory., as of yesterday.

The number of people in quarantine at the quarantine centers is now down to 38.

The Leone Health Center is now empty, and is being sterilized.

Motusa says the one at Kananafou was to be closed yesterday or today.  This leaves just the Fatuoaiga and VA Center quarantine centers still opened.

The Health Director said they hope to continue using the Fatuoaiga Center for awhile as it is suited for isolation purposes and is well secured with the necessary amenities.

The samples which are being tested at the Hawaii State Laboratory are taken from patients who present with one or two of the symptoms of coronavirus, and have a travel history or exposed to someone who had traveled.

Epidemiologist  Dr. Afili John Tufa explains who gets swabbed.
