Forty two of the 145 passengers on last night’s Hawaiian Airlines flight are medically quarantined.  Forty are at the VA Center, where renovations were completed just last night, and 1 is at the Leone Health Center.

Health Director Motusa Tuileama Nua said more passenegrs were bnooked on the flight but  information he received is that the rest deciced not to fly after they learned they may  be quarantined.   This is the largest group of travelers arriving on Hawaiian Airlines to be medically quarantined.

The group are mainly from states with many coronavirus cases such as California and Washington.  The health director said none showed any symptoms of the virus or other illness.

The rest of the 103 travelers are to be home quarantined.

Motusa said they will review the manifests and travel histories of the travelers again just to make sure they didn’t miss anyone who needs to be medically quarantined.

He is asking families of travelerver being home quarantined and village authorities for help in making sure they stay at home.

DOH teams will also be visiting the homes of the travelers to check on their health.

The brochures given home quarantined travelers  ask that they call the hotlines 633-5871/5872if they experience any of the symptoms of coronavirus like fever, dry cough and shortness of breath.
