Parents have gotten a taste for what teachers put up with during this first week of home schooling.

And many are finding that teaching is not that easy.

Some students under their parents tutelage too are yearning to be let back in class.

A high school teacher who did not wish to be named had her students keep a journal of their experiences during this time away from class.

Their writing showed three common theme:boredom, missing school and being overwhelmed.

Said the teacher, “They’re learning how to balance all of their classes online while also taking care of siblings, doing chores and everything else they’re expected to do at home.

Some students felt that workloads for some of their classes were unrealistic and others shared about the lack of support from their families.

Some students said that being home is harder than being in the classroom.

The teacher’s advice to fellow educators is to be considerate of students and their situations during this time. “Overwhelming them with work makes everyone’s job more difficult,” she said.
