It was a busy day getting  quarantine facilities ready before tonight’s Hawaiian Airlines flight in case they’re needed.

The ASCC gymnasium quarantine center is now closed and those who were quarantined there for two nights have been moved to the Fatuoaiga Pastoral and Cultural Center.

Health Director Motusa Tuileama Nua said this afternoon that the VA Center is ready to take in any of the passengers on tonight’s HA flight who need to be quarantined.

The VA Center can hold between 40 and 50 people  The hall part of the building has been partitioned and showers have been added.

Motusa explained that they will follow the same protocol for selecting passengers who need to be medically quarantined, and those who will be home quarantined.

Travelers from states with high numbers of COVID-19 cases and those from foreign countries that are affected will be medically quarantined, as well as any traveler that shows symptoms of the virus.

All others will be home quarantined.
