ANZ Bank has changed its way of serving customers to combat coronavirus and is practicing social distancing at all ANZ sites.

ANZ Country Manager Tasi Scanlon said effective Monday, March 23, when the emergency declaration for COVID-19 went into effect its two branches are taking in 10 walk in customers at a time.

She said ANZ continues to encourage customers to do banking digitally with ANZ’s Online Banking and ATM Access Cards.

“We are here to support our customers. We are well capitalized and we are confident that we can continue to serve our customers through the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Banking is an essential service and we will continue to operate.”

Customers who were at ANZ’s Tafuna Branch on Monday vented on social media about having to sit on the benches outside with the hot sun bearing down.

There had been no public notice issued by ANZ to the media prior to their new policy,
