Who is subject to COVID-19 quarantine?

The Department of Health issued a new travel advisory last night.

All travelers including US passport holders traveling from affected US states entering American Samoa will be subject to either a full 14-day quarantine or a home quarantine.  They must go through a public health screening process and complete the DOH health declaration form.

Those traveling from foreign countries with COVID-19 cases will undergo a mandatory full quarantine of 14 days; this also applies to US passport holders. They must complete the DOH health declaration form and public health screening process.

Under the health advisory, all travelers from Samoa will be subject to a mandatory full quarantine.

Entry permits remain suspended.

All charter flights will be denied entry.

Flights between American Samoa and Samoa and also Tonga are suspended.  There is an exemption to the ban on inter-Samoa flights to accommodate local residents who are stranded in Samoa.

DOH strongly recommends that travel to US states and foreign countries affected by COVID-19 be postponed and asks local residents to advise relatives traveling from affected states they will be placed on mandatory quarantine of 14 days or more.
