Director of the American Samoa Medicaid Office Sandra King Young expects the Off Island Medical Referral Program to New Zealand to resume in a few weeks.
The director gave a comprehensive report on the Medicaid funding that American Samoa has received up to passage late last year of the Omnibus Bill which included $84 million in Medicaid funding for American Samoa for the next two years.
She said before that funding can be used, local match is required.

King Young is currently in Honolulu to hold discussions with hospitals there about accepting local off island referrals like in the past.
