The crowd that turned up to be immunized at the EOB in Utulei today was much bigger than authorities anticipated.
Health Director Motusa Tuileama Nua said the medical team was the target of taunts and even swearing when they had to cut short the vaccination.
He said they were trying to restrict the EOB vaccinations to first responders and ASG employees however non ASG employees also turned up. And some of them got upset when told of the priority group.
Motusa said they’re requesting more police officers for crowd control and will resume the vaccinations at EOB tomorrow.
The site at the EOC at the former Argosy Building in Ottoville had a rather light turnout.
The Health Director advices the general public to listen out for the schedule of the mass vaccination in the villages and go to the nearest site to be vaccinated on the allotted days.
