The Fine Arts Department of the American Samoa Community College opens a musical production, “Iesu le Mesia” this evening at the ASCC Multipurpose Complex.

Chair of the Fine Arts Department Kuki Tuiasosopo says it’s a musical telling the story of the birth of the Baby Jesus in Samoana.

The music was composed by Namulauulu Dr Paul Pouesi and the script was written by Daniel Pouesi.

“It’s a shorter production than our usual ASCC plays,” said Tuiasosopo. “It’s 45 minutes long.”

About 40 Fine Arts students are featured in the musical.

It will be staged tonight and tomorrow night.  Doors open at 6pm and the curtain goes up at 7pm.  Cover charge is $10 across the board.

Tuiasosopo invites the public to come out tonight and enjoy the sights and sounds of Christmas.
