The Fesoasoani Alofa mo Samoa (Help with Love for Samoa) Fundraising kicks off at the Samoan Fale at Suiga ula in Utulei at 7:30 this morning.
The Commitete headed by Secretary of Samoan Affairs Mauga Tasi Asuega and Treasurer Ueligitone Tonumaipe’a will accept cash donations, canned food and packaged dry goods.
Donors can drop off their contributions at the fale Samoa at Utulei or call 633-0581.
Governor Lolo Moliga has called on churches, faith based groups, villages, youth groups, sports organizations, businesses and all families of American Smaoa to lend a hand and donate for Samoa.
House Speaker Savali Talavou Ale said fono memebrs and Staff will also donate.
Appearing on KVZK-TV last night Paramount Chief Mauga said Samoa and American Smaoa are one people and when one is suffering the other will come to its aid.
The fundraiser will continue up to December 20.
Governor Lolo Moliga has already set donation amounts for ASG employees at $10, deputy directors at $100 and directors and CEO’s at $300.
The fundraiser will also continue on Saturdays at Suiga ula and its planned that collection tables will be set up at various stores.
