It was a joyous celebration at the Holy Family Cathedral today when two Deacons Salesi Moimoi and Andrew Wilson  were ordained as priests of the Diocese of Samoa-Pago Pago.

Bishop Peter Brown led the Mass of Ordination with more than 20 priests of the Diocese and some from Samoa and  Tonga con-celebrating.

Fr Salesi began his seminarian studies at Mt Angel Seminary in Portland, Oregon then continued at the Pacific Regional Seminary in Fiji while Fr. Andrew graduated from Mt Angel Seminary after studying at the St. Alphonso Seminary in Guam.

Relatives and friends traveled from the mainland, Hawaii, Tonga and Guam to celebrate with the two priests, their families and the local Diocese.

Bishop Peter Brown said as priests, Fr Salesi and Fr Andrew must follow the example of Christ and bring His peace to the people.

He said they will offer Mass and follow Christ’s commandment to commemorate the Eucharist in memory of Him.

After the Ordination Mass the families of the new priests made traditional presentations and prepared a feast for the Diocese and guests.
