Congresswoman shares views on impeachment

Congresswoman Aumua Amata Radewagen spoke with our Washington correspondent Matt Kaye this week about the House impeachment inquiry against President Trump.  Here’s his report—

Congresswoman Aumua is not involved in the impeachment inquiry, and she stresses her first responsibility is to the people of American Samoa.

Congresswoman Aumua Amata says Congress has twice this year passed 100-percent Medicaid funding for American Samoa, and is trying to pass added ASG funding.

But Aumua says she’s “deeply concerned” with what she calls “the fundamentally flawed” impeachment process—

Congresswoman Aumua says ultimately, she has “great faith” in the strength of the Republic and the US Constitution, and in the need for prayer and “trust in God.”

In the meantime, Aumua says her committee work will continue, and she will stay clearly focused on the needs of American Samoa.
